I drew this piece as part of my series of fashion-inspired characters that I’m creating for my final project for Digital Artmaking class. I aspire to work in the animation field, ideally as a character designer, so this assignment will serve as great practice for me. I also have a large interest in various subcultures and fashion styles.
One of my favorite styles is goth, so I created a goth girl character. I experimented with a sharp, edgy art style with exaggerated proportions to make the characters my own. I took inspiration from media whose art style I personally really enjoy, such as Total Drama Island, and Urbano – Legends. This character will be part of a series of 3, which will include, as of the time of writing, emo and decora-styled characters.
