An Interview with RVCC Bowling Club President Adolene Fowler

2 mins read

Jacob Rodzen caught up with RVCC Bowling Club President Adolene Fowler through RV Connect and interviewed her about how the club came to be and what it’s like to be one of their members.

Rodzen: Did the bowling club start this semester or did it exist before then?

Fowler: We started this semester.

Rodzen: When do you meet?

Fowler: We meet on Wednesdays at 6:45 PM.

Rodzen: Where do you meet?

Fowler: We meet at Bowlero in Green Brook.

Rodzen: Was this your idea?

Fowler: No, it was our first president Matt Ho, the man who created the club. I just took over the presidency.

Rodzen: Where did he get the idea to form the club & what made you decide to join?

Fowler: I can’t speak for Matt and say for sure where he got the idea from. However, I believe it was because he wanted to recreate high school bowling at a collegiate level. I decided to join because I liked bowling, did it in high school and wanted to do it at a competitive level once again.

Rodzen: How would you describe what your meetings are like?

Fowler: We meet at the Bowlero in Green Brook and start with a ten minute practice. After that, the four teams start playing their three games for the night alternating lanes between each turn and following proper bowling etiquette.

Rodzen: For those who cannot drive to an off-campus location, do you know if there are any carpool or public transport options to allow people to attend your club’s meetings?

Fowler: We attempt to do carpooling to the best of our ability.

Rodzen: Does it cost anything to attend your meetings?

Fowler: It costs $14 weekly. This amount is payable to Bowlero in Green Brook.

Rodzen: Are members provided with equipment such as shoes and balls for that cost?

Fowler: Yes they are, but members are also free to bring their own equipment if they want to.
