New York Comic Con’s console and tabletop gaming section made its debut for a second year in a row at the Javits Center during the weekend of Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 in order to make room for more vendors and interactive experiences.
Jonah Kartush, an attendee of the event said, “I really liked how they expanded the activities.“ He added, “There were many more tables reserved for fighting video games and figurine painting, [and] mahjong.””
Card games, however, were the area’s main feature. Vendors from all over came for a
chance to sell, buy, and trade cards from various tabletop games.
Attendee Kat Tuck said, “Throughout the day there was always a good crowd in the tabletop room enjoying the community and playing pick up games with each other.”
The section utilizes an area of the Javits Center that was previously under-used by the
convention and seems as though it will become a permanent part of the event.
