2023 Giving Day

By: The Record Team

On March 23rd of 2023, RVCC had its 7th Annual Giving Day where organizations, offices, clubs, and sports teams on campus took part in an online fundraiser. RVCC successfully reached their $50,000 goal, so a local couple will match the donation.

While all organizations on clubs raised beyond 100,000 dollars, specifically clubs and sports teams received around 30,000 dollars in support from peers, family, and friends. Many clubs had advertised their missions and what they wished to do with the money donated through RVConnect, Discord, text messaging apps, and even phone calls to get the word out. As announced in a recent email by Janet Dunne, the Basketball Team received the most money out of all clubs and teams, and the Open Mic Club received the most donations by individual persons.

As always, it was a successful day for many clubs and teams to get their individual needs met for the last stretch of the school year and for the school year of 2023-2024. Hopefully, next year, we continue to see a thread of mass success from a variety of organizations on campus!

And thank you to everyone who donated specifically to our own Record page! We appreciate the support.
